Requiem for a Vampire
Requiem for a Vampire Jean Rollin directs this adult horror in which two women on the run seek shelter in an old castle, unaware that its owner - a sadistic vampire - lurks in the shadows. The cast includes Marie-Pierre Castel, Mireille Dargent and Philippe Gaste.
If you like Jean Rollin, this film is for you but there is quirkiness to the film that makes it quite watchable. Two young girls dressed as clowns are on the run from a botched robbery when they stumble into a ruined chateau inhabited by a vampire clan. There follows their attempts to leave the chateau but are always drawn back. As for the production, the cinematography is good with the French countryside providing excellent vistas, but some of the editing is very poor, giving rise to poor continuity. The full uncut version includes some of the rape and orgy scenes so lovingly cut by our beloved BBFC for the UK release.
